Watanagashi Voice and Graphics Patch v4.2.0
This is a cross-post for all chapters! Hooray!
This update requires a full reinstall of the graphics (Watanagashi-CG.7z and Watanagashi-CGAlt.7z). Downloads are in the wiki.
Hello, everyone!
We are now finally pushing the video update for all chapters of the game. Yep, you read right. Tsumi should also be released with an opening!
Fast news about Tsumi: yes, we are working really hard on it. It should be done soon. Voice patch will be released in a few days at most (we're waiting for a major update from MangaGamer) and the voice and graphics patch will receive a partial testing release by next week. We will talk more about it when the release day comes.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the video update. Never thought this day would come, but we really, really managed to have videos working inside the engine. This is amazing. The team is really thankful to everyone who took part in our survey not so long ago, we took note of every suggestion and we will do our best to fulfill them.
Last but not least, my thanks to everyone on the team who worked really hard to make this update real. That's for you, irlPM, idealpersona, Petsnew, drojf, enumag, orian, TheDoctor, Grelo and... me? I think I deserve some. I probably forgot about someone, and I'm sorry about that. That's the World Cup effect, I haven't been paying attention to anything other than football (soccer for Americans) these days.
Anyway, enjoy the new update while we work on Tsumi. Download links for the videos (they are not included in the zip, don't forget to get both) are in the usual place, our wiki. The openings are now also included in the installer!
Changelog
- Added an opening video for all chapters
- Lots of minor graphics, scripts, and voices fixes
- Several UI mod fixes
See you really soon!
Watanagashi Voice and Graphics Patch v4.1.0
Hello, everyone! We're running a number of corrections to the voices in Onikakushi, Watanagashi, and Tatarigoroshi. Because of that, you need to download the voices again to use the latest version of the patch. Trust me, it'll be worth the hassle. Check below for a minimal step by step procedure on how to update your patch to the newest version. You can also reinstall the full patch using the installer if you don't want to bother extracting the voices manually.
How to update to v4.1.0
- Download the new voices pack here.
- Inside your
StreamingAssets
folder, delete the foldersvoice
andspectrum
. - Extract the file you downloaded inside the
StreamingAssets
folder. - Download and extract the new patch update (links at the top of the post) inside the folder
HigurashiEp02_Data
. Overwrite the files.
Changelog
- Multiple changes to the voices and spectrum files
- Some minor corrections
Watanagashi Voice and Graphics Patch v4.0.2
This update requires a new graphics (PS3 and MangaGamer) and voices update. You can find the downloads and tutorial on the wiki or you can just install the new patch using the patch installer (also on the wiki).
This is a cross-release with Onikakushi, Watanagashi, and Tatarigoroshi!
Hello!
This was a really, really long ride. I honestly never thought we would get this far. First of all, I would like to thank P-Chang for his efforts into paving the way so we can have the foundation of this update: the lipsync. Unfortunately, P-Chang is not with us anymore (in a good way, I hope he's healthy!) but his work was not wasted. We resumed from where he left off, fixed a bunch of bugs and added some new internal workings thanks mainly to @DoctorDiablo and @IdealPersona. This update also releases the long waited UI update that has been in the oven for quite some time, thanks to Inochi's effort (in all honesty I forgot his handle here). This update has also been quite a challenge for @enumag and me, and I'm very thankful to him for keeping track of everything and not letting the whole thing go down after P-Chang left the group. I'm amazed by all the work we managed to do in such a short time. My thanking section also extends to @Norgus, who finally came back to the group and has been such an amazing person to the team. There are a lot more people who deserves my thanks, but let me save them for the next post, right?
Buuuuuut, we're not done yet. There's a lot of bugs to fix, and also make the releases for Himatsubushi and Meakashi as well. Everything's going according to the plan, thankfully. We're also getting ready for Tsumihoroboshi, which should be coming by the end of April/start of May. At this point, I accepted we'll never find some time to catch this season's anime. Not me, though, I've been slacking off so my Anilist looks pristine.
Anyway, enough with the jokes. Again, all my thanks to our amazing team, everyone who helped bug catching, killing, squashing or whatever you want to call it and of course, to all the people who supported us along the way. There's still a lot we want to do!

Watanagashi Voice and Graphics Patch v3.0.1
This is a small patch to correct an issue where the patch didn't work in the DRM-free version of the game. This update doesn't offer any improvements to the Steam version of the game, so there is no need to update your patch if you are already running the previous version.
Changelog
- Fixed an issue where the game crashed at start if you installed the patch on a DRM-free version of the game
Watanagashi Voice and Graphics Patch v3.0.0
This is a quite big update, coming to all chapters right now. We did some hacking on the engine and created a bunch of stuff to make the patching even easier. One of the cool things we managed to do with that is to change between NVL and ADV mode with a single button. Really cool, isn't it? Of course, this wouldn't be possible without the work of @P-Chang and @enumag. This is officially the best version of the patch!
Check out our wiki to see the new installation instructions. We recommend you to start fresh with our installer or see the new steps in the wiki to properly update your patch.
Please remember that this patch will break your saves! Do not update unless you really want to.
Now, it's time for the changelog.
Changelog

- Voice volume is now separate from SE volume. You can adjust it with these keys:
- M = Increase Voice Volume
- N = Decrease Voice Volume
- Left Shift + M = Voice Volume 100
- Left Shift + N = Voice Volume 0
- Other new hotkeys:
- F1 = Toggle NVL/ADV mode
- F5 = Quick Save
- F7 = Quick Load
- F10 = Flag Monitor
