According to the CA48 Flight Plan, I have to file the aerodromes as follow:
13.Departure Aerodrome, 16.Destination Aerodrome, ALTN Aerodrome and 2ND ALTN
Aerodrome.
PREFLIGHT
Hamburger (icon menu), Library, Maps and Data, tab: VAC
• Idea: tag a VAC airfield as DEPARTURE AERODROME, DESTINATION
AERODROME, ALTN AERODROME and 2ND ALTN AERODROME
• Departure and Destination is mandatory, Alternate and 2nd Alternate will be
filed by the wise pilot but not mandatory
• Add those four options in the airfield list containing: [Info, Rename, Uninstall]
• The two, three or four tagged VAC aerodromes, from user selection, can only
be tagged once, this is there is one departure aerodrome, one destination
aerodrome, one alternate and one 2nd alternate aerodrome
• Possibility to sort the whole VAC airfield list alphabetically, for easy search and
selection with the two, three or four tagged airfields always on top in the order
of Departure, Destination, Alternate an 2nd Alternate if set by user
Hamburger (icon menu), Library, Maps and Data, (three vertical dots)
• For a new flight, if set, the two, three or four tagged aerodromes must be
cleared
• Add item for clearing the above two, three or four ‘tags’ in eg. [Update list of
maps and data, Download all updates…, Import…, Clear VAC library…]
DURING FLIGHT
From Hamburger (icon menu), Approach Charts
• Replace the content of the Visual Approach Charts collection with only the two,
three or four previously select charts.
• Going a step further in this brainstorm is to remove the menu Approach Charts
completely and display the two, three or four VAC charts on the map at once
The way I did present this idea is try to make clear what I envision but by no means
that it must be implemented exactly that way unless you like it :-))
Pro is that no fiddling is required in (turbulent) weather with the phone or tab to
select the appropriate VAC chart during flight.
For the flight simmer at home not so an issue I guess? :-)
It is just an idea / suggestion so feel free if this will add value to EFN.
Kind regards, Bernard
