Swap camera without re installing it all

Hello all,
I have been using this software for a while and all good with the RPI HQ camera, and have it set up as I want it, so can I swap to an ASI120 camera without having to re install everything and reload the software to the SD card, and have to start all over again…?

Assuming you are using a current version of Allsky, it's easy to change cameras. Make sure the ZWO is connected, then in the WebUI go to the bottom and change the Camera Type to ZWO. If that doesn't work, pick Refresh. I don't remember which is correct and am not on my computer to look it up.

Hi, did you solve this, I have the problem in reverse and tried a number of ideas. I installed using my ZWO guidescope then bought a Pi camera and lens, I can’t seem to get it recognised in Allsky even though my Pi recognises it. I wanted to avoid reinstalling and going through the settings and config process again if at all possible.

@EricClaeys I know it’s not my point but I set up my Allsky with an ASI120mm and it worked but it is my guidescope that I need back on my scope. so I purchased an RPi HQ. I have reinstalled Pi iOS and will be attempting an Allsky installation with the Pi HQ this weekend.

@David40WLP, the next Allsky release is MUCH easier to switch between cameras of the same brand or different brands.
Just curious why you re-installed Pi OS?

@EricClaeys Having adjusted several settings I wanted a clean install. I’m new to Pi and Allsky and thought I’d start with a clean canvas again. It’s not that big a job when you’ve done it once.

I created an "ERIC_CHANGES" folder that includes all my changes and additions, and a README.txt file that lists all the setting changes I made and packages I install. Makes upgrading Pi OS pretty easy.

@EricClaeys I reinstalled Allsky with the RPi camera, all recognised and AOK on testing. In fact easier than last time as I was better prepared. Only one issue to resolve and that's the video resolution. Thanks for your responses and guidance. Now to build a housing for it!
