Favicon missing from website

I've followed the suggested workflow from pkgdown to build favicons (run pkgdown::init_site() then run usethis::use_logo() then run build_favicons()). This is also meant to do some magic to add them to the corner of a browser tab when the website is open. But it doesn't, and I've had no luck making it work even after deleting and re-adding the logo and re-building the favicons.
