Describe the bug
I'm not sure if these are even related but posting as a single issue. If needed can divide into two separate issues.

I've noticed that some devices intermittently become unavailable. I'm not sure when this started happening but I'm sure it wasn't present months ago. It seems but I cannot say confidently that the problem started occurring recently when I updated the integration to the current version.

I've checked the logs (full logs bellow) and it seems there are some problems with device/entry IDs:

The intermittent "disconnect" also happens but unsure if related. I'll provide the graph, but if you need anything more to troubleshoot, please do tell. As you can see on the right side of the graph, there is no data (from around 7:00 to a around 10:15):

An interesting thing to note is, that the devices that were unavailable became available when I updated HA core which restarted the system.

Versions

  • Home Assistant:
    Core 2024.12.4
    Supervisor 2024.12.0
    Operating System 14.0
    Frontend 20241127.8
  • Integration: v0.5.6

For the connection issue, check out your device's diagnostic entities.

This is an unfortunate reality for wireless devices. Most likely there's going to be errors with wireless communication. And some PowerTag's are just bad for some reason, even if your gateway is right besides it.

For not all your devices showing up, are you comfortable posting your device's serial numbers? Or at least whether or not some are longer than 10 characters. It might be related to #27.
