not all photos in the album are displayed in the app

I've installed your app and I love this great idea. I've been looking for this solution for a while.

However, a problem has arisen that I have not yet been able to solve: Not all photos are displayed in the app that are in the album.

I am using a set of 15 photos (mostly .jpg) as a test album. However, only 6 of these are displayed in the app as a slideshow on my LG TV. The other photos are ignored or skipped. Based on the image properties, I could not recognize a pattern, e.g. a certain format is not displayed.

I have converted these 15 photos (to jpeg and png) and found that .png does not work at all and with the .jpeg only two of the pictures that do not correspond to the previously working ones are displayed.

Did something go wrong during the installation or can I adjust something in the command line or do I have to edit the images uniformly with a program beforehand?

Hi @Snixct,

Do you by any chance have the DSM 7.2.2 with Synology Photos 1.7 installed? I don't have that version on my NAS yet, but I know there's been a change in the photo thumbnail generation from DSM 7.2.1 + Photos 1.6. Basically they must be generated on the client side in the newest version, while syno-photo-frame depends on them being generated server side. Let me know if that's the case, we can look for a workaround.

No, then it's something else. Are there any errors printed to the console when you run the app?
You can add more log messages running it like this:

RUST_LOG=debug syno-photo-frame ...

or

RUST_LOG=trace syno-photo-frame ...

Post the output.

Also please check if you can see all the photos in the album using a regular Synology Photos client: either in a web browser or mobile app for example. This way we can figure out if the problem is on the Synology or on the syno-photo-frame.

I also checked, if the photos can be displayed as aregular photo show on my phone in the Synology Photos App and this was also fine.

This one doesn't have anything looking suspicious.

Let's see what the trace says, you can also add ... | grep syno_photo_frame to filter it out a bit, the rest is probably not going to tell us much.

Or is it possible for you to send me a sample photo which doesn't work so I could test it myself? Assuming it's not some private stuff ofc.

Please try the latest release 0.14.1 and run it as follows:

after the first check with the latest version, it looks like it works perfectly. All photos are displayed accordingly. I think you found the issue.
This is really awesome and I am very happy. In the next steps, I will arrange a screen and cables, so that I can deploy the frame within my family. Thank you very much for your great effort.
