Does version 1.7 actually work?

Yes, I currently have 1.7.1-10011 installed on my system and it works fine.

I can also see here they just released 1.7.1-10015 where the bug fixed is "Fixed an issue where Live Photos might not display correctly in shared albums.", though I'm not sure what "Live Photos" is.

Do you see the error message instead or it just skips some photos? If you're using DSM 7.2.2 maybe you're experiencing the change they made where thumbnails are not generated for HEIC images server side? syno-photo-frame displays the thumbnails. In this case you could try to use their Image Assistant Extension to generate the thumbnails?

Additionally, if you just added photos to an album, you need to wait for the slideshow to finish and start again (or restart the app) - the album contents metadata is fetched upfront when the slideshow starts, and then every time it finishes and starts again.

status: 404 is "not found", are you able to open the album and the photo in a browser? Also try the URL you just posted, does it work in a browser?

Error 101 is "Invalid Parameter". What is the exact version of Synology Photos package you have installed?

Looking at your request maybe it's either they changed the version parameter, or the fact that your _sharing_id contains an = sign. I'll need to test that scenario, meanwhile as a workaround you may try to recreate the share link to get one without = (if it always gives you the same id, then maybe re-creating the album can fix it).

Correction, I misread the thing, your _sharing_id does not contain an = sign so that's not it. I'm out of ideas tbh.

I'm also getting 101 when trying similarly looking URL in my browser so that doesn't prove much. However I get 200 status code response when using syno-photo-frame, where you got 404 indicating that the thumbnail is not available for some reason... 🤔

I have Version 1.7.1-10011 installed. The new version is not yet displayed.
I recreated the album. still the same error.
I think I'll reinstall everything.

If you're still experiencing the issue, try the new release 0.14.1 and run it as follows:

RUST_LOG=trace syno-photo-frame {your params} | grep syno_photo_frame

and let's see what it outputs to the console.

I was able to reproduce this issue on my system (#27), seems Synology changed the API, I'll try to fix it.
