Hi! I’m using Circuitscape.jl to identify areas in the landscape that contribute most to connectivity between the core areas of a focal species. I’m using the following resistance layer (resistance values range from 1 to 100):
And the following focal nodes, which are the home range of the species of interest:
I’m having troubles interpreting and displaying the results; I’m using Arcmap. Essentially, the cumulative current is very high ONLY in the focal nodes, and below 0 in the surrounding landscape, resulting in this map:
I’ve tried “stretching” the displayed values, by using a classified colour ramp and displaying the quantiles:
I’ve also tried using a log10 transformation:
And tried removing major barriers, like roads:
My problem is: I’d expected to see more of a gradient between the focal nodes and clearer bottlenecks, much like all the papers that have used Circuitscape to model ecological connectivity, for example:
Do you think is a problem during the postprocessing of the results? Or are my input files (resistances or focal nodes) the issue? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
I will leave my input and output files, in case they are of any help.
