Unlike foxhole reloading can be much more personal/team/visual based, then just stuffing a menu full of icons.

To faclitate more exotic weapons, crew served weapons and drive deeper ties to the core mechanic that apes together are stronger, we should have an ammo reload system that allows a loader/loaders to prep the next round(s) for rapid reload for the gunner.

This can take various forms but the underlying mechanic is that:

  • When ammo is "expended" an action zone will be enabled, with medium range

  • That if the use key is hit and the player has the approperate ammo in hand, it will speed reload

  • This for BOFOR like objects, would allow for refilling of ammo slides as the gunner is firing/aiming

  • This for Flak 88's would allow for the ammo carry, and readying to be done by multi people in prep, saving 2/3's of the reload cycle (Fetch, Carry). Which means a few crew can speed up weapon firing by 66% with perfect timing

  • This for a BAR LMG would allow the assitant, with the bag full of ammo, to grab and arm the next mag while the gunner is firing, and then slap in the reload, skipping again almost all of the reload cycle. Making a simple LMG turn into much more agressive ROF weapon

  • Artillery, mortars and the like all need this as well

This metric will allow guns solo to be normal, or as teams exceptional, and it would allow roles to shift depending if people engage in teamwork, or more apt, the teamate isn't dead yet 😄
