As tested in Final Cut Pro 10.3.4, currently if you duplicate a Title (such as the "Basic Title"), the newly created item does not maintain the same "text" as the original item.
This can be easily reproduced by dragging a "Basic Title" into a project. Changing the text to "This is a test", then whilst holding down the OPTION key drag the title to a new position to create a duplicate. This newly created title will have "T" as the text, instead of "This is a test". If you duplicate the original title again and change the colour of "This", when you export, these changes also won't be reflected in the exported file, making exports very unreliable.
I've reported this issue to Apple.
