Some problem on macbook environment.

I appreciate your work on Nature Method, https://doi.org/10.1038/nmeth.2448 and I want to replicate your idea. However, it raise some error when I run your matlab script binlocalizations.m on my macbook and I put the problem in attachment. I think there has some version matching problems (my development environment is m4 macbook, 2023b matlab, dipimage 3.5）. I also tried dipimage 2.9 on my mac but there raised an version problems also (Error using dip_initialise

DIPimage 2.9 is not compatible with Apple Silicon machines. And if the script you found is written for DIPimage 2, it might need a little fix-up to work with DIPimage 3.

One thing you could try is getting a version of MATLAB for Intel Macs, and run it under Rosetta. Then you should be able to run DIPimage 2.9 and that script.

The other option would be to fix the script. DIPimage 3 should be able to run most DIPimage 2 scripts, but there are a few changes that break backwards-compatibility. From the error message you show, it looks like the script uses getparams(), which used to set the paramerror variable. getparams() doesn't exist in DIPimage 3. It used to parse and validate input arguments, filling out default values and so on. But it was slow, and MATLAB now has much better functionality for this. Replacing that first block of code with updated input argument validation is usually all that is needed to get old code to work.
