Homebrew

This is a collection of homebrew content for the 5th edition of the world's favorite tabletop game.

Content

There are multiple types of homebrew in this repository, and completed piece of content contains a Markdown file, a PDF, and a README explaining some information about the content.

Below we'll go over each type of homebrew in this repository and give you a quick rundown of what each has to offer.

Adventures

These are pre-built adventures that are ready to drop into your world and run with your group.

  • Red Hand the Devourer
    • Combat-heavy, but varied introductory oneshot
    • Optimized for small, low-level party
    • Unique combat mechanics

Backgrounds

These are character Backgrounds that add some flair or flavor not present in the currently available Backgrounds.

  • Gambler
    • Leans more towards Chaos, but not Evil
    • Coin-based utility Feature and a gold-focused Variant
    • Proficiency Choices: Deception or Persuasion; Sleight of Hand, Insight, or Perception

Campaigns

These are over-arching campaign settings and the various supporting content and rules governing those settings.

  • Shadow Company
    • West Marches-like campaign focused on group of diplomats, mercenaries, private investigators, and assassins
    • Expects and facilitates player drop-in and drop-out and allows for rolling new characters on a whim
    • Prioritizes one shots and two or three session adventures over epic multi-session adventures

Monsters

These are creatures that serve some niche that isn't covered by the published materials that are ready to drop into your world.

  • Canine Companions Monster Guide
    • Flavorful and unique companions to replace lack of diverse canines
    • Interesting Reactions and realistic Traits
    • Available Canines:
      • Tundra Mastiff: Siberian Husky-like dog companion
      • Herding Mastiff: German Shepherd-like dog companion

Rules

These are variant rules that enhance some part of the gameplay system in an attempt to maximize player fun.

  • Team Tactics
    • Awards player creativity and team cohesion
    • Grants unique actions and allows for intersting party interactions
    • Makes players collaborators in creating the world
