Oracle links are not appearing on Visu

max 8.6.5

When I load the saxophone improvisation and enable record as instructed in the overview patch and demonstration video, nothing happens in the visu window. There is no movement in the modules below ( OB_1, OB_2, OB_3 ) either. Omax is setup properly with the package contents in the correct place and I added the file to max's search path as well. I'm on an m1 mac so I tried opening max with rosetta just in case, made no difference.
