Possible reasons why the Edit button is not showing up for your dataset:

1. You don't have write access to either the EML or Resource Map

For the MetacatUI editor to work, you need to have write access to both the EML and the Resource Map object (because the resource map will need to be updated with the new EML id and any new data ids upon any update in the editor). They are two separate objects in Metacat with their own system metadata and access policies.

Solution:

  1. Check the system metadata of both objects and make sure your ORCID is in the rightsHolder or accessPolicy
  2. Update the system metadata of either object that is missing the ORCID in the rightsHolder or accessPolicy
