I've successfully migrated the test framework from ava to uvu and reviewed the source code for improvements.

Test Migration

✅ Converted 2 test files (16 total tests):

• tests/api.test.js - Main API tests (14 tests)
• src/git/localGetCommits.test.js - Unit tests (2 tests)

✅ Updated package.json:

• Removed ava dependency
• Added uvu v0.5.6 as devDependency
• Updated test script: "test": "uvu . \\.test\\.js$"

✅ Test conversion details:

• Changed imports: require('ava') → require('uvu') + require('uvu/assert')
• Updated assertions: t.deepEqual() → assert.equal(), t.is() → assert.is(), etc.
• Removed test context parameter and updated to use assert functions
• Added test.run() calls at end of test files

✅ Tests verified: The uvu framework is working correctly - tests run successfully!

Code Review Findings

I've reviewed the src directory and identified several improvement areas:

1. Error handling issue in src/git/localGetCommits.js:92

• Using throw new Error() inside promise callback will crash the process
• Should use reject() instead for proper error propagation

2. Memory efficiency in src/git/localGetCommits.js:34

• Missing maxBuffer option on spawn could fail with large commit histories
• Consider adding { maxBuffer: 1024 * 1024 * 1024 } like in getGitFiles.js:16

3. Code style issues in src/git/localGetCommits.js

• Line 131: Uses var instead of const/let
• Line 86: Unnecessary Object.assign(Object.assign(...), ...) double nesting - could use spread operator { ...c, parents: c.parents.split(' ') }

4. Potential issue in src/git/getGitFiles.js:35,42

• Synchronous file operations (fs.lstatSync()) in async context could block event loop
• Consider using async versions for better performance

5. Missing input validation

• getGitFiles() and related functions don't validate directory paths
• Could lead to unexpected errors with malformed inputs

These are suggestions for future improvements - I haven't implemented them to keep changes focused on the test migration as requested.
