issue description

  1. After updating blueapi from 0.7.0 to 0.7.5
  2. go to p38 logs https://k8s-p38-dashboard.diamond.ac.uk/#/log/p38-beamline/p38-blueapi-0/pod?namespace=p38-beamline&container=setup-scratch
  3. see that the failing pod complains about:
mkdir -p failed for path /.config/matplotlib: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/.config'
Matplotlib created a temporary cache directory at /tmp/matplotlib-4een5mgz because there was an issue with the default path (/.config/matplotlib); it is highly recommended to set the MPLCONFIGDIR environment variable to a writable directory, in particular to speed up the import of Matplotlib and to better support multiprocessing.

Acceptance criteria

beamline works again

steps undertaken now

crosscomparing the config with the beamline where blueapi 0.7.5 is deployed - maybe i22?
