Modpack

FTB Evolution

Is your suggestion related to a problem? Please describe.

Just two lists. A list of omissions

  • 1. The mod https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/alltheleaks/files/5930610 isn't in the pack, despite being specifically optimized for it (and seemingly beneficial)
  • 2. There's no quest for the Jumbo Furnace
  • 3. There's no chapter for occultism
  • 4. There's no quest for an obsidian generator upgrade
  • 5. By default, the compact machines datapack is disabled. Since no custom pack was provided, this makes them useless
  • 6. The bumblezone questline doesn't mention that advanced beehives (progressive bees) can be used to enter the dimension
  • 7. The quest for xycraft extractors doesn't explain the orientation system: https://www.reddit.com/r/direwolf20/comments/17guo40/xycraft_extractor_doesnt_work_any_suggestions_im/
  • 8. The not so mysterious cube drops itself when broken (as opposed to copies of the presses used to create it. This seems to make it useless...
  • Suspicious gravel in NauTec structures (confirmed with the catalyst "gateway") is empty; brushing it produces no items #6470
  • 10. There's a buried treasure map in the "ocean ruin warm" loot table that turns into a regular map when you try to use it
  • 11. The enderio sag mill has essentially no intermod compatibility. Similarly, sag mill recipes aren't grabbed by other mods
  • 12. Aluminum has strangely limited compatibility with other mods (both processing and using). It's also weird that aluminum can be smelted directly, while bauxite requires complicated (and inefficient) processing to produce aluminum ingots
  • 13. There's a catch 22 in the occultism progression - red chalk requires torch flowers, summoning torch flower seeds requires a heart of the sea, a heart of the sea requires red chalk. Unlike most of the occultism progression, this one doesn't benefit from possessed creature summoning. And, in the heavily modded world gen, finding sniffer eggs the vanilla way is time consuming
  • 14. The statue core tooltip has a namespace, instead of interesting text
  • 15. FTB ultimine can vein (gentle) harvest cocoa. It can't vein harvest sourceberries
  • 16. The quest for mekanism muffling upgrades doesn't mention the super sound muffler clone that's in the pack
  • 17. "Making Multiblocks with Machine Cores" rewards the immersive engineering hammer, rather than the Oritech wrench (which is a task under "Basic Logistics")
  • 18. Neither OriTech nor Actually Additions power options are represented in the "Power Generation" Chapter
  • 19. The EnderIO alloy smelter sometimes stops smelting when the third slot is full. This happened most recently with certus quartz dust
  • 20. Inferium shears are ineffective against cobwebs. Vanilla shears are effective.
  • 21. Dragon egg seeds can't be grown with mystical fertilizer. This still consumes the fertilizer. The crux is present beneath the (insanium) farmland, and the seeds grow normally.
  • 22. The Ore of the Eclipse Quest talks about Shadowflame Goo, but asks for Shadowpulse Goo. I don't think there's shadowflame goo in the pack.
  • 23. "The Quantum Computer Structure" quest says the structure can be a 3x3, 4x4 or 5x5 square. Based off the number of structure blocks it requires, these are external dimensions. The guidebook says a 7x7x7 (external) is also valid. I haven't tested even dimensions, but the guidebook makes no reference to this restriction.
  • 24. Basic upgrades (Modern Industrialization) don't require polyethylene, so the quest description and prerequisites seem misleading
  • 25. Placing silver and gold in a Modern Industrialization alloy smelter produces an unusable form of electrum; one that's hidden in JEI
  • 26. The oritech centrifuge has two animations - one nice animation that plays while the UI is open and one "stuck" animation that plays the rest of the time. The sound effect associated with the second animation is a bit much.
  • 27. WAILA/JADE/TOP/Whatever's in the pack says the fluid capacity of the Oritech centrifuge is huge, far more than the 8 buckets it can actually hold (with a fluid add on)
  • 28. There's a steel duplication loop (in JEI): $\text{ingot}\to \text{2 wires (metal press)} \to \text{2 ingots (arc furnace)}$
  • 29. Raw titanium can only be smelted in the alloy smelter and the arc furnace. This bypasses hot ingots
  • 30. Raw tungsten can only be smelted in the alloy furnace and the arc furnace. This bypasses compacting the tiny dusts into nuggets
  • 31. The vacuum freezer isn't compatible with productive bees honey
  • The dark steel ladder uses the vanilla ladder texture
  • 32. There's no recipe for the gold trapdoor, so the netherite trapdoor can't be crafter, either. The netherite trapdoor is in JEI, but the gold trapdoor is not
  • 33. The oritech steam boiler addon has a recipe that uses oritech coal dust. This isn't oredicted, so it can't be used
  • 34. Modern Industrialization recipe locking is inconsistent. For example, using JEI to "autofill" the vinyl chloride recipe in a chemical reactor doesn't lock the item slots. More problematic, using JEI to "autofill" the styrene recipe actually misses the item input, locking the item slots so they can't accept iron dust.
  • 35. Modern Industrialisation Platinum Ore Quest impossible #6492 is trivially fixed, and it breaks perhaps a third of the Modern Industrialization questline. (I had to resolve it with editing mode - fortunately, I'm an OP.)
  • 36. The quest Random Access Memory says I need Random Access Memory to make AE2 crafting units. I don't think there's any recipe connecting the two and the vanilla recipes for AE2 crafting units are enabled
  • 37. There are recipes for two kinds of netherite dust, and which one you get seems arbitrary. Macerate a netherite plate? Get FTB dust. Macerate an ingot? Get mekanism dust.
  • 38. Apotheosis spawners will accept pointed dripstone, even after they've reached the minimum initial health. The extra dripstone is simply voided. This isn't true for other modifiers.
  • 39. The altering time quest implies budding time crystals need to start charging in the overworld. This isn't strictly true - overworld like dimensions (eg, the mining dimension) also work.
  • 40. The occultism smelter recipes aren't listed in JEI. At least a few of them still work, they just don't show up under uses/recipes
  • 41. The quest "Empowered Crystal Blocks" says it provides a technology bundle, but it actually gives a choice reward
  • 42. The early energy generation quest requires all three generators, rather than just one.
  • 43. Several quests in the Modern Industrialization chapter (eg, "Reactor Mechanics") refer to EMI, rather than JEI
  • 44. The MI nuclear reactor can't explode, emit radiation, etc. This is buried in the middle of its guidebook entry - it would be nice if the quest mentioned this. The other nuclear reactors in this pack are both quite perilous.
  • 45. The MI explosives... don't actually explode. Telling us this in their respective quests, and providing crafting recipes to, say, convert industrial TNT to obsidian TNT and nukes to low-yield nuclear explosive devices would be nice.
  • 46. It isn't possible to complete the "Getting Started" chapter, even if you complete every quest.
  • 47. There's a permanently hidden quest in the "The Traveler's Quest" Chapter.
  • 48. The "Seriously, what are you doing here, go away" quest doesn't specify a timezone. Also, 3 AM is morning.
  • 49. Every single generator from industrial foregoing is required (rather than optional) to complete the Generating Power chapter. None of the quests have text (new players might not know why they'd want so much diversity).
  • 50. The biofuel generator/reactor quest is gated behind the mycelial reactor quest, and not distinguished from the mycelial generators
  • 51. The diesel/boosted diesel quest chains in Modern Industrialization aren't optional, but they aren't a mandatory (or even particularly useful) part of the mod's progression. They also aren't integrated into other mods and/or the FTB Pyramid questline
  • 52. Modular forcefields are required to complete the pyramid, but there's no recipe for the in game manual and the fortron fluid has no recipe. This mod could use some quests. Or at least a tooltip saying "can be pumped from coercion driver (Requires FE)".
  • 53. At least some of the lost and found quests aren't repeatable (eg, Pyramid, top layer)
  • 54. Raw uranium (FTB Resources) can be crafted into a block, but there's no way to craft the block of raw uranium back into individual pieces.
  • 55. The integrated dynamics squeezer produces immersive engineering uranium.
  • 56. The EnderIO alloy smelter has two recipes for uranium. The dominant recipe produces useless immersive engineering ingots.
  • 57. There are two recipes for uranium blocks. The default one produces FTB uranium blocks, which can't be crafted back into ingots (except in an unpacker) and have very few uses.
  • 58. When a task screen (1X1) is broken, nothing drops
  • 59. Pagan Bless rune slabs don't drop anything when broken with an ars neuvo spell (verified with cinnabar)
  • 60. The Pagan Bless runic ritual overlay can't be completed. It doesn't recognize rune slabs. There's some flickering on blocks completed, but that doesn't last.
  • 61. Ender skulls and enderman heads aren't oredicted. I don't know how you get enderman skulls (for the FTB Pyramid quest), but I know I only found one. By contrast, my mob farm pumped out enough skulls (512+) for me to start voiding them.
  • 62. The hephaestus forge won't form if there are already arcane stone pedestals on the gilded chiselled polished darkstone when you use your mundubitar dust. The quest does not mention this.
  • 62. The JEI tooltips for the hephaestis forge secondary resources (blood, souls, experience, etc.) are the variable name, rather than the localized string.
  • 63. Arcane crystal blocks don't drop anything when they're broken
  • 64. The Blood Essence quest doesn't mention that the deaths have to be player kills. Fun fact: when it rains pigs, and they go splat, it's an entirely bloodless process...
  • 65. When a magnetized pedestal (tries to) pick up an item at the same time as, say, an advanced magnet, and just loses out to a sync issue, it displays the item it tried to pick up indefintely. This can only be cleared by providing another item.
  • 66. The mandatory boss catcher quest is gated behind the optional Hephaestus Forge: Tier 4 quest.
  • 67. The reinforced deorum equipment (not implemented?) doesn't have graphics, but it does have upgrade recipes
  • 68. The occultism crusher (and a few others) produce a FTB variant of arcane crystal dust that has no practical uses. The correct dust is created with a smelter. Unless it's intended that you crush the ore to dust for ore multiplication purposes, then compress them to crystals, then smelt them back to dust? It's still confusing that they have the same name.
  • 69. Black holes aren't explained in JEI, or quests, and it's quite hard to find xpetrified orbs (required for endgame F&A, as well as the Pyramid questline) without just making one. The recipe you provided is probably fine, but why not explain the way the mod author intended?
  • 70. The Geores quest says budding (geore) crystals can't be moved. While I haven't tested this, I suspect any of the following would do the trick: cardboard box, advanced swapper, spatial pylons, vehicle card, space card. This should probably be mentioned.
  • 71. The immersive engineering ore veins have a lot of empty tags in their output. I don't know if this'll cause errors, or reduce the output, but it seems like an oversight.
  • 72. The void portal block, when used in a non-overworld dimension (eg, mining) will send you to the void dimension, but using it again sends you to the overworld, spawning an unsightly pink platform in the air.
  • 73. Explorer's warp scrolls explicitly say they can be used to create portals, but don't actually work (with ruined portals or custom made ones). Regular scrolls do work (with regular portal frames). Edit: The explorer scrolls only work if you throw them in manually restored broken portal frames.

and a list of apparent problems

  • 1. Enderio conduits, under some circumstances, delete items.
  • 2. Mekanism pipes don't consistently respect path length -or- functional storage drawers with void upgrades don't consistently accept items
  • 3. The Bee nest helmet doesn't protect you from angry bees (wrath of the hive) in the bumblezone
  • 4. If the just dire things creature catcher lands in pollen (bumblezone), it's deleted
  • 5. Using the GM chicken feed to make a spawn egg for progressive bees creates a glitchy entity
  • 6. With ~1400 health, wardens seem implausible to kill "legitimately". Awakened supremium, level 75 enchants, significant genetic enhancement, and a talisman that blocks the first sonic shriek certainly aren't enough. (Edit: health apparently depends on the shrieker that does the summoning. I found one that summons wardens with only 500 health, and have discovered that wardens tend to avoid shrieks if you face tank them while invisible and hovering off the ground. These are killable in melee.)
  • 7. The ars neuvo talisman only blocks one sonic shriek, despite having three charges (total, only two charges remaining)
  • 17. The athletics xp builds up far faster than any other type. (I'm sitting on 18 extra stat points; it's the only tree I've finished)
  • 18. There's an infinite blaze powder loop with oritech and the ID squeezer
  • 19. Quarry bees can duplicate hydroponic beds (untested, listed in JEI)
  • 20. Genetics: Resequenced isn't compatible with JEI (yes, the in game guides are both out of date)
  • 21. JEI bookmarks overlap the baubles inventory, LIO card holder GUI, etc.
  • 22. There are JEI recipes for the Powah bee outputs, but the Powah bees themselves aren't enabled. This means that recipes like the one for blazing crystals from invisible honecomb look rather strange.
  • 23. The industrial foregoing machines with an arrow in their UI display the translation key for ETA as a tooltip, rather than the actual time remaining.
  • 24. The simple compacting drawer is rather oddly named
  • 25. The occultism ritual aid overlays appear in every dimension (not just the dimension where you're building the ritual)
  • 26. Killing a mob with its (upgraded) statue on your hotbar doesn't increment the kill count until you open your inventory, pick up the item, and set it back down. This seems like a sync issue
  • 27. While dying to a legendary warden, my silent gem's chestplate disappeared. This happened around the time slimy death triggered, and it was enchanted, so there are a lot of confounding factors
  • 28. Using an EnderIO fluid tank of XP juice to repair an item enchanted with mending, then leaving the item in the output slot and repairing another item deletes the first.
  • 29. The EnderIO fluid tank can only extract water from a sink if it already has water in it
  • 30. When upgrading a statue, the "Chisel" button remains selectable after the upgrade is complete (and the resources have been consumed). Clicking it plays the upgrade sound again, but has no other effect. Removing and reinserting the statue resets the button state to disabled.
  • 31. JEI says the singularity takes one bucket of lava to make in the Reaction Chamber. However, the machine only uses 0.1 buckets of lava per craft
  • 32. Mekanism pipes (every kind I've tested) appear disconnected after travelling between dimensions. This is a purely visual bug, and a block update fixes things
  • 33. The restonia crystal quest doesn't seem to give rewards
  • 34. The actually additions auto-placer doesn't work in claimed chunks, even if you set "Allow all fake players" to true and set "block edit mode" to public.
  • 35. Feeding slabs only work if they're below the lowest block in the advanced hive multiblock. The normal advice online is "don't block the entrance", but, when the multiblock is formed by placing an expansion block below an advanced hive, the feeding slab actually has to be placed at least 1.5 blocks below the hive entrance.
  • 36. If you take an empty heated centrifuge, power it, and drop a stack of combs in it, then check the GUI and hover over the honey bar, the number will slowly alternate between the correct value and the maximum value. The visual indicator will also alternate.
  • 37. There are some weird visual glitches when using the ore x-ray upgrade from Just Dire Things. In particular, arcane crystal ore renders incorrectly. Additionally, if you mine some ore while the effect is active, then any side of the ore block that you wouldn't be able to see without the x-ray effect continues to render after the block is broken. And Xychorum ores render as deepslate.
  • 38. Pressing the sort inventory button (middle click) while hovering over a curios slot deletes most curios. (Since I lost my backpack, and all my talismans, and I haven't died in ages, I'm gonna have to roll back the world for this one.)
  • 39. The "vampire talisman" is actually the "vampiric talisman". Searching for "vampire" returns no results in JEI.
  • 40. Ender storage ender tanks have several visual glitches. For example, moving one with a bag of yurting will change the color code to whit/white/white - this is just a visual glitch. Another example: tanks appear empty once unloaded and reloaded.
  • 41. I've completed the FTB pyramid. I've been to the starlight and the deeper dark. I've broken a lot of grass in multiple biomes and looted many structures. Yet I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get a canola seed. Are you sure these are implemented?

I may add to these lists as I remember suggestions/problems. Or encounter new ones.

Mod suggestion

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/alltheleaks/files/5930610

It (apparently) improved my performance and is specifically optimized to support this pack (among others).

Just edited your issue, please either make separate issues for all of these things so its easier for us to track or at least add checkboxes :p

I can include checkboxes. This list is too long, and the entries too simple, to justify filling out a template for each entry. Besides, the last time I went though the bother of filling out a template and including pictures and whatnot, Saerith just gaslit me. It didn't feel like a good use of time.

I've tested most of this list without alltheleaks. The only line items affected (as of 12/29) are the mekanism pipe visual glitch (32) and creature catcher despawning (4). The latter may be an intermittent issue, or user error, as I'm currently unable to replicate it.

  1. Any updates? I noticed a few of these things were independently reported, and those tickets were addressed... For example, Uranium Ingot/Block issues #6625. The corresponding item on this list hasn't been checked off, and that ticket wasn't labelled as a duplicate of this one. Ditto for item B31.
  2. There's still a blaze powder dupe loop, but it's a bit more balanced by setup complexity. Occultism crushers make up to 12 powder from one rod. These can be compressed with the IE metal press at a rate of 5 to one. Even the Djinn crusher is enough to get started.

The heads dropped by Enderman using The Ender sword are from the Heads mod which is incompatible with the Slice N Splice.

I recommend adding compatibility to the recipe for the Sentient Ender to use heads from the Heads mod.

Update: They drop both types of heads.

The heads dropped by Enderman using The Ender sword are from the Heads mod which is incompatible with the Slice N Splice.

I verified that the ender can produce enderman heads. I used these to complete the pyramid. Make sure you're using it on vanilla endermen, and remember that you might need to kill a few dozen. The (vanilla) drop rate for heads has always been quite low.

That said, these items should be unified. The ender doesn't have a lot going for it in this version of minecraft, and new players won't know about this rather niche enderIO mechanic.
