Project update so it can be built on newer Android Studio

I would love to test some of my ideas in this project. It is the only real open source project that implement full m3u8 to Live Tv.
Would it be possible to update gradle files so it can be rebuilt?

Would this project run today? The "Live Channels" app isn't present on my current TV box, so I'm not sure if it'd do anything.
