Option to prevent extensions from opening tabs

9 out of 10 extensions serve a single simple purpose and you should never have to think about them again after installation. But, they all seem to think they need to force open a tab every time your browser restarts to tell you about all the bugs they supposedly fixed. I am very tired of it and there is no way to force them to not do that.

I have no idea how hard it would be to add this as a feature or if anybody but me cares but I have to throw it out there on the off chance I can stop this from happening ever again.
