I've looked at this and can't understand what we are supposed to do with this. Missing the big picture. Yes - we want an easy way for people to enter their contact info in during an edit session where you have to enter in contact info in numerous parts of a metadata record. And maybe there are other contexts that we could store 'repeated information' so teh user doesnt have to keep entering it in over and over (licensing perhaps?") etc. I get what a metadata template is (a metadata record in a particular standard schema that has certain elements already populated / suggested to populate / content prompts and examples. The template has some kind of a template tag in it to discern it from a regular metadata record.
However, this area is for "sub templates" (I think as per the help). It's very technical.
Not sure how one would select a different standard to create a template in the 2014 version versus the 2018 (does it default to 2018?) how does gCat know what standard a record is being created in? Missing the point of this whole area / cant see how we could use it.
