Create Account - is it disabled? should we remove this from view for now?

I just tried to request an account using my geonovatester@gmail.com address.

Tried requesting access to registered user (expecting it should just be automatically granted) around 12:49 pm wed june19

Tried requesting editor access (expecting that there would be follow up actions that the catalog admins would entertain.

Both scenarios : when I clicked on the- register button - nothing happens.

I checked my email for geonovatester as well as my work email - and there is nothing there.

Hmmm another mailer issue? something else? or was this component disabled and I just forgot that?

The Create an Account page should have a CAPTCHA section at bottom, to verify that you are not a robot - there could be an issue of that part not showing sometimes, but it does work for me. For now, I will disable this, and we can re-enable later when we need it....
