HackBMU is a hackathon focused on promoting innovation, diversity and networking among

- Participants will be able to meet the up and coming of their generation,
- allowing them to get up to speed on new trends and quite possibly set new
- ones themselves. HackBMU seeks to provide a welcoming and supportive
- environment to all participants to develop their skills, regardless of their
- ethnicity.

- Last year, HackBMU 1.0 garnered huge attention with 100+ participants from
- all over the country. Also, we aimed to close the gender gap in hackathon
- participation and encouraged female participants to join up by reserving seats
- and especially for them. The response was overwhelming, and nearly half of
- our participants were women. We aim to do the same this year
