OVRdrop runs on SteamVR and can only be seen when SteamVR is rendering to the HMD. Most games which support both Oculus SDK and SteamVR will use Oculus SDK by default as they are programmed to do so. You can trick these games to use SteamVR instead by setting them to run with Compatibility for Windows 7. Instructions for Steam titles in this article under "What about other games?".

If Space Junkies is Oculus only, then OVRdrop will not be able to work for it unless you are using a SteamVR HMD and running it through Revive.

This is an issue specific to Oculus Rift as it insists on using the Oculus SDK unless you force it not to. SteamVR HMDs will always be able to see and use OVRdrop. Oculus, WMR, and other non-SteamVR HMDs will only be able to use OVRdrop when running through SteamVR.
