I have found that in general notebooks uploaded to the repo are still keeping their output. This increases pretty much the volume of the repo due to the addition of several images. I would suggest to remove these outputs before uploading notebooks to the repo:
jupyter nbconvert --clear-output --inplace notebook.ipynb
