Usually the members can push their updates directly, but when many people are updating, you might get into conflict if the main repo is updated by two or more people quasi-simultaneously.
The safer way, is to make a branch in your name (or whatever floats your boat 😄), update there, and make a merge. For example, I made a branch called rajr . So I make updates in rajr and push them by
git commit ... && git push
At some stage, when there are enough changes to be merged to the main branch. Come to github, and create a pull request.
