Error when initializing

When initializing the submodules with:

git submodule update --remote

If you fail to login into git-annex (after 2 tries) and retry the initialization successfully, the plot submodule is no longer initialized.

This has occurred to me twice while setting up beNNch as I always have troubles login into git-annex and have to retry the submodule update command but then I am not able to install plot as nothing was fetched for it even though the update returns no further errors.
