Highlight button press

Does anyone know a method to select a button and highlight it and say use a flag to detect if its still pressed. I have a led setup with 4 rooms and want to select a room and change a colour or brightness of a specific room?

Thanks but that doesn't quite help me. Im sure i was unclear. The situation is 4 room buttons, a slider and toggle. My hope was to be able to select the room adjust brightness then touch the room button again to activate the brightness set, or simply turn that specific room off and have the button reset after the toggle. I was hoping to achieve this without using pages but i relented and started using them. Thanks for the reply though.

Using the existing built-in controls, would the following be an option for your design?

• Create 4 room ToggleBtn controls (all assigned to the same group)
• Slider control

When the user clicks on a room toggle, you can update a variable with the latest room selected, and set the slider to the new room's brightness value.

When the slider callback is called, you can update that particular room's brightness level (based on the saved room variable).

Example ex46_ard_togglebtn shows how the callbacks can be used.

Ive just made 4 pages for each room and 4 buttons on the main. It wasnt as hard as i feared it would be. However i was testing on a rpi display and it worked great but purchased a cyd with builtin esp and cannot get it to configure the touch. The touchscreen uses a separate driver and i cannot figure out how to make the touch input correspond with the gui buttons. The library is bb_spi_lcd the touchscreens use a different mosi moso clk pins. Id appreciate it if u felt like adding support for these board as they are common now.

@Tezzatron81 You might not need any support from @ImpulseAdventure Calvin. Checkout [ESP32-Cheap-Yellow-Display](https://github.com/witnessmenow/ESP32-Cheap-Yellow-Display/tree/main/DisplayConfig) which shows how to config using TFT_eSPI library which is already supported by GUIslice.

@Tezzatron81 Also you need to use PaulStoffregen/XPT2046_Touchscreen
which is already in GUIslice's TFT_eSPI config.

See example:
2-TouchTest.ino
and be sure to get that working first before trying GUIslice.

Would be good to get your changes incorporated into the two libraries.

Now I can take a look at GUIslice Builder.

Just to add, I followed the GUIslice Builder walkthrough and got the Simple Counter example running on my CYD. Note that the Graphics Library needs to be changed from default Adafruit_GFX to TFT_eSPI.

Thats why i made a copy if the touchscreen library, i have a few different screens and didnt want the hassle of adding the pins manually.
