On Manjaro Linux, with Firefox 113, JabRef 5.9 and version 2.5 of the browser extension, I encountered the following issue:

When trying to import a reference into JabRef via the extension, I end up on a error page with title "Error connecting to JabRef" and message "Native application tried to send a message of 858927154 bytes, which exceeds the limit of 1048576 bytes."

In the browser console, I find the following:
