Migrate documentation from repository to the wiki on github

there's some technical documentation scattered throughout the code if you can consolidate it to the wiki in their respective repository. if it pertains to the application as a whole then it requires to be in the wiki. if it's just comments on a how a function works or part of the abstract base class documentation it does not need to be within the wiki.
