After running the command, another terminal opens and prompts [INFO] [lgsvl-bridge]: Listening on port 9090
But the simulator window opens, stays black for a couple of seconds and goes away.

Check if Mesa Vulkan drivers exists with mesa-vulkan-drivers command.
If they exists, sudo apt remove mesa-vulkan-drivers
then, sudo apt install vulkan-tools
Finally check if a rotating 3d cube exists with the vkcube command
If it exists, problem solved.
