License clarification for pretrained weights (excluding InsightFace)
Hello LivePortrait team!
Context / background
I noticed the existing issue #193 – “Licence question – InsightFace input” discussing licensing of the InsightFace models.
However, we have already removed InsightFace / buffalo_l from our build in favor of a permissive replacement.
Our main question
Now, we would like to confirm whether all pretrained weights remaining in the LivePortrait project (gen / motion / warping / spade / etc.) are legitimately distributed under the MIT License, and whether they are free from additional restrictions (e.g. “research only,” “non-commercial use,” etc.).
Specifically:
- Are all pretrained weights included in the LivePortrait repository released under MIT?
- Are there no residual clauses or dataset-based restrictions that would impede commercial redistribution or modification?
We would greatly appreciate a short confirmation (in this issue) that the pretrained weights currently included may be used, modified, and redistributed under MIT, including in commercial products.
