Changing the way the progress is marked #1262
Comments
This doesn't seem thought out, honestly.

Issue: If i open any previous chapter, my progress is marked to that chapter. So now I have to find the chapter I was on and open it to move the progress there. Solution: the app disables moving the progress back if I open any previous chapter Working: If I want to move the progress back on my own (since if its disable, I should be able to select and hold a chapter and there should be an option to move the progress there Benefit: i can open any previous chapter whether for revising something or accidentally and not worry about the progress being offset. |
Okay. I kind of agree with the problem but not really with your solution. I don't think the mechanism for going back is intuitive which could mean people just won't find it or even look for it. If that were the case they just wouldn't be able to go back. |
On second thought I think bookmarks essentially are the solution already. That's exactly what one would use when facing the same problem while reading a physical book. Just bookmark the page you're on before going back and later find the bookmark to find where you left off. |
Describe your suggested feature
As of now, suppose if I've read a manga till 50 chapters and I open any previous chapter for some reason (which happens frequently), the progress changes to that very chapter I opened last time. It would be better if there was different logic with this.
Suggestion : I think it would be better if the reading progress isn't affected my opening any previous chapter. Instead, there should be an option when holding and selecting a chapter to manually move the progress to that very chapter, in case it's needed.
