Are versions tagged as releases?

It seems not, but I might be wrong. Is there a reason behind releasing with branches? I'm a bit of a git flow/ GitHub flow kind of person.

You could consider it legacy. I was wondering whether I should change it last year. But really - there's so much more to do, I didn't want to go through the hassle of breaking build pipelines and what not just for the sake of a mostly philosophical question 😁.

But yes, I usually tag releases, eg. https://github.com/LMS-Community/slimserver/tree/9.0.1

Fair. the reason I raised the subject is findout if updating my docker is needed or not. I'm running "Lyrion Music Server Version: 9.1.0 - 1736543323 @ Sat Jan 11 05:36:08 UTC 2025" now which sounds quite new. But the 1736543323 is confusing me.

9.1.0 and 9.0.2 haven't been released yet. They're still under development. They're moving targets. Only once they are "frozen", I'll add the tag.
