Association is slow when running over multiple patches #10
Description
Bruno has shown that when running at NERSC on ~30 patches, the association is so slow it can't even start the job. I have also seen that running association requires a much longer startup than other tasks. It would be good to understand why this is happening and problems are unique to NERSC.
