Enlightened Warrior
In the strategic inventories of warriors, self-importance figures as the activity that consumes the greatest amount of energy, hence, their effort to eradicate it. --Don Juan to Carlos Casteneda, The Fire from Within.
The following comes by way of Florinda Grau, a cohort of Carlos Casteneda, of which, undoubtedly, the knowledge has been put there by the Spirit itself...
Below are the five traits of the enlightened warrior. These principles are perfect. If you don't understand then, you must re-organize yourself (or your ancestors needing you --mj). Try the PLAN.
The essential component to achieving mastery in your lifetime is a worthy opponent. You have to go find one, otherwise you will merely be playing games with your own ego at the price of some poor sap.
You may lose many battles with the tyrants that come your way, but the righteous warrior should always win. Remember that. (Righteousness is a combination of being Just and being Right. --mj)
The traits below apply to every situation where power is concerned, whether it's at school, at work, in politics, or everyday life.
- Ruthlessness: Being bullied? Don't sit down for it, but don't resort to some psychobabble that "he was abused as a child". No, you have to develop your ruthlessness.
- Cunning: You've got to sit back and consider your options. You've got to map out all of your limitations and all of theirs. You have to look for the path to redeem the situation. For America, it might be the fact that they pride themselves as a lawful country by, of, and for the People without living it (see Hack the Law), for example.
- Patience: Generally, you do not initiate any moves except inconspicuously as the opportunity arises, and maintain your awareness. No, you go off being yourself, and wait until the bruise-fodder comes to you.
- Kindness: You're not just looking to get even, you're looking for the divine victory. But to get the divine win, you can't merely be tougher or smarter than they are -- that keeps you at the level of the Bully. You have to hide a little love in there somewhere -- a lesson that will teach them how they were wrong or perhaps how they might go about redeeming themselves. Just a token gesture -- it doesn't even have to be noticeably. This keeps you on the path...
- Don't be cruel: Ruthlessness must not be cruelty. If you feel that way, go meditate in the woods for awhile. Animals have been dealing with the problem of being smaller for millions of years -- and they've survived. And without the cruelty.
- Don't be capricious: Cunning can easily turn into arbitrary back-biting. Refrain. You can do better.
- Don't be negligent: Patience must not become negligence. You don't wait and do nothing, while the problem gets bigger and you get smaller. Accumulate perceptual assets.
- Don't be foolish: Kindness has to encode some wisdom, perhaps some you gained while meditating in the woods. Don't be a simpleton. Sweetness shouldn't degrade into foolishness. You have centuries of ancestral history to draw from. Don't forget that.
These four opposing pairs form the crucibles for mastery. The next one is for the "final act" as don Juan told Carlos. This is the one that can't be planned out in advance, but arises spontaneously. On the Jedi Path, it is called the Force, and one stays attuned to it, not just to conquer the world, but to maintain its highest nobility.
- will: This is where you have to be fluid enough to move as you need without your mind getting in the way. You've prepared yourself with the other four crucibles and honing your impeccibility, and now wait until the final moment arrives. This is saved until last. They have to set the pace, 'cause they're in charge, right? You must have discipline. At some point, there will be a window of opportunity. The countering force to this is:
- Providence or the Force itself. You cannot force resolution of this problem on your own. That's what the bully does. So rather than exerting your own will, you will be expressing the Will of Man (unless you're a Jedi, who's Will stays attuned), which has an innate sense of right and wrong along with karma.
Will is something not easy to harness. Many fail at it. It is the mastery of power itself. One of the first concerns of warriors is to free the energy that normally is channeled towards the self into mastering the world. The action of rechanneling that energy is called impeccability.
Once you reign victorious, move onto Plans. OR if you are of the Asian race:
The Enlightened Warrior has four masteries:
- Mastery of Dreaming: imagining the world, seven doors to mastery
- Mastery of Stalking: mastering him/herself, four attributes + 1
- Mastery of Knowledge: accumulating and synthesizing experience into greater order
- Mastery of Awareness: outer perception, inner perception.
A warrior may retreat, but does not flee. S/He may lie in ambush, but does not hide. S/He may experience victory or defeat, but does not cease to fight. --Star Wars Thrawn Treason
