If I were to translate the best of the Shaolin Way, it would be something like:

• One must master the ego, not let it roam free. FOr the White Man, this means to master knowledge to wrestle control with it.
• Minimize one's dependencies on anything but oneself and the Spirit or Chi.
• Perfect the flow of outer events by mastery of the world.
• Never start a fight; however, when there is a gross imbalance of power within a conflict, one must bring some wisdom or justice.
• Failing these, one must find where one's knowledge or attention is too weak, not one's body/mind.

The difference between the Priest and the Jedi is that the Shaolin priest exercises their mastery from within the whole (keeping it healthy), while the Jedi stay outside the whole (keeping it contained). Another way is that the priest maintains the heart of the Whole, while the Jedi maintain its mind. They should stay in sync through habitual interaction.

There is potentially another set maxims for the Shaolin path that I would envision from the journey of the Native American journey where they had to survive amidst the challenges of the White Man:

• Mastery of Dreaming (building the future from within)
• Mastery of Stalking (hunting one's weaknesses within the complexity of society)
