LiPD Utilities functionalities

Functionalities to support

• Open/write Lipd file
• Extract timeseries -> to pandas. Multiple timeseries handled by xarray structure. Note: This requires the pandas extension for time.
• Extract and assign ensembles to timeseries - May need user input to assign the right table
• Add an ensemble
• Query within LiPD objects loaded into Python
• Format export (already supported): excel to LiPD, NOAA to LiPD (will be expanded), LiPD to NOAA
• Need to allow a user to define the main "age" column (if multiple are present). Needed for pandas export

Design

• Objects rather than pure functions
• Constraints through the ontology
