Since I use my phone to read a lot, slowly but surely I came to the conclusion that doom scrolling hurts my eyes and my brain a lot.
Hence, I started using pagination whenever possible.
Like a slideshow, even quick blitzes of content changes do not hurt me at all. But constant scrolling, and the brain trying to read while tracking does hurt. More and more studies will come out to confirm this.
So, I did enable "Manual Pagination" in the app, but the problem there is that the page size does NOT match my phone screen size. Hence, I still need to scroll a bit (about two pages worth) until I see the "Load Page x" button. That kind of defeats the purpose and feels like a bug.
In addition, I would like to ask for (optional) volume-down hardware key as a shortcut for this "Load Page x" button. This way I can read with one hand, just holding the phone, without the need to issue touch commands all the time and thus having to use both of my hands.
Thank you.

While at it, it occurred to me that it would also be useful if we could (optionally) bind the hardware volume-up button to perform the "back" action, meaning, returning from reading a post back to the list.
About 90% of HackerNews posts are the URL, and a short explanation from the op, sometimes with few comments in. Only after reading those, do I, sometimes, choose to follow the URL to find out more. Hence, in the majority of cases I use the back button to go back to the list. This is where hardware-volume-up would be really handy.
Also, thinking about it some more, I just realized that the hardware-volume-down button could be useful not only for the post list pagination, but also for the post display page to jump to the next comment. For me personally, comments are often more valuable than the post itself. So when there are lots of comments, we are back to scrolling and reading. If we could use the hardware-volume-down button to instantly scroll to the next comment (or page of comments), that would be great. In this scenario, the hardware-volume-up button is much more useful to do back-to-list action, than it would be to do instant-scroll-to-previous-comment action. That's simply because comments are usually read downward, and almost never in the other direction.
Hi,
Congrats and thank you for this great app.
