Incorporate machine learning content into the workshop repository

It would be good if the content from the January 2016 machine learning workshop could be incorporated into this repository for further development and reuse. Doing so will mean reorganising the structure of the repository slightly, perhaps moving notebooks into separate subfolders by topic.
