Kethane And kerbal interstellar

I have a Kerbal Space program save with the interstellar mod on it, but I dont get any new parts, even tough I'm almost through the tech tree. Do I have to start a new save? And do I have to use a specific tech tree? P.S I'm using kethane 8.0

This isn't really relevant to kethane, the tech tree mod bundled with interstellar is actually outdated and causes weird behavior, their is an unofficial tech tree mod you can replace it with that might solve the issue.
