"Oh Snap. Something bad happened!" when saving article

Clean reinstall of reactathon on OSX 10.10.5. I created an account, logged in as myself, and tried to add a short article.

The first time, I got a warning that the article had to be at least 30 characters.

So I lengthened the article body, and got an alert "Oh Snap! Something bad happened!" The form (title/content) remained on the screen. (Title was "First Article", content was "0123456789012345678901234567890123456789")

The terminal shows 'POST /api/add-article' with a JSON object that contains the title and content of my article. I did this several times.

If I click "Articles", I see that I have posted the article several times.

What's the "Oh snap" all about? Any other debugging info I can provide?

This is in progress, the problem is the return from server is not JSON.

The current plan for this is to implement the proper relay mutation instead of the RESTful POST request.
