The LM7805 voltage regulator is a linear voltage regulator which means that the 12 to 5 V are achieved through heat dissipation. Find a switching power regulator to replace the LM7805.

In order to get rid off the noise induced with the switching power supply (buck converter), one could feed the output of the switching power supply to the input of an LDO OFC, the output of the buck should be as small as possible but at the same time enough for the LDO to work as expected.
