About this preview release

This release of Firefox Reality for PC platforms is a preview release intended for users interested in testing some of the features of Firefox Reality.

The intent is to support the following:

  • Full-featured web browsing without leaving your VR headset.
  • Browse inside other VR applications.
  • Navigate the web using your VR controllers, and enter text for search or forms using the onscreen keyboard or your real keyboard.
  • View 360° immersive media.
  • Support for WebVR/WebXR experiences.
  • Access essential browser settings for VR use.
  • Support English-US locale for the user interface.

The following features are planned for future releases:

  • Support for multiple overlay windows.
  • Private browsing mode.
  • Support for other locales, including Chinese (China).
  • Playback of DRM-controlled media.

Known issues:

  • The user must manually select the projection for 360° videos.
  • The user must manually switch focus between the overlay and the immersive app
