Feature Request: Select a new button default without using the item

For example, ["AutoBarButtonHeal"] = { ["arrangeOnUse"] = 211878, }, could have 211879 or 211880 in the list as those are higher quality versions of an Algari Healing Potion. I would like to change the arrangeOnUse potion without using it.

I'd like to use a modifier key like shift, ctrl, alt, or a combination when I click on the popup list so that that item moves to the button but the item isn't used.

I am willing to do the code modifications and testing if you are willing to accept a patch. Any guidance you could provide would be welcome as well.

It seems like it would be a good feature. Messing with the Secure stuff is a pain in WoW since it's so poorly documented. It's been so long since I've touched it that I can't give much guidance.
