MPD client on Chromecast/Android TV?

I'm searching for a simple MPD client app that will install and run on Chromecast/Android TV. Neither M.A.L.P or MPDroid seems to be available.

When I search for a solution all I find is guides to stream music from my MPD to my TV through Chromecast, which is not what I need.

My MPD is attached to my stereo system on a Raspberry Pi, and I would just like to be able to control the daemon on my TV with my Chromecast remote.

As a workaround I have installed myMPD on the Raspberry Pi, and I am able to control it through a browser on the TV, but navigation is clunky, and a dedicated app would be much preferable.

Does anybody know of a good app, or perhaps just a more remote friendly webclient? Thanks in advance!
