My introductory lesson with the students I teach, before we start the diploma proper, is all about showing them 'magic internet money'. Because I have the good fortune to live in a country that is well-served by the fiat system, just sending a lightning transaction doesnt have much of a 'wow' factor. I have used LNBits to add some magic to this first encounter. Some of the interesting things you can do with LNBits include:
-Paying for the next song on Spotify
-Recieving bitcoin from a printed QR code
-Setting up a paywall to a website QR code link (usdebtclock or bitcoinorstupidshit)
-A tip jar QR code
One problem is that you need to get some sats into the hands of the students first. I find that the 'sat race' works well for this, although if LN isnt working smoothly or you have bad internet it can be a challenge.
What ideas do you have for making the students' first experience of Bitcoin a memorable one?
