Better looking shaders

The shaders I'm using look terrible. I'd love to use shaders that look somewhat like these:

• This for the liquid so it looks like liquid
• This for the blobs and liquid (metaball/cell merge)

I'd also like to make the blobs look more 'blobby', and to make the liquid glow when you put your mouse in it.
