New paper with @walkeranthonyp as a co-author finding consistent P constraints on photosynthetic biochemistry using ORCHIDEE-CNP model across continents in the tropics with demonstrable consequences for large-scale forest C uptake. The authors further assert that there is "no longer any basis for ignoring the P effects on photosynthesis in Terrestrial Biosphere Models even if P is not uniformly low throughout the tropics."

FATES wasn't a part of this study, but ELM-FATES can handle N and P, so looking forward to seeing further exploration on P constraints!
