Integrate Hashicorp vault with Harvest

Note: Follow best vault practice as in your organisation. Below commands are just for demo purpose.

1. Add Poller secret in vault using below cli or through vault UI

vault kv put secret/harvest/u2 username=admin password=admin

2. Enable approle auth in vault

vault auth enable approle

3. Create a new policy agent-policy as below from vault UI

4. Run below CLI

vault write auth/approle/role/agent token_policies=agent-policy
vault read auth/approle/role/agent/role-id
vault write -f auth/approle/role/agent/secret-id

6. Extract below attached vault.zip and change as needed in agent.hcl and web.tmpl. Also copy role-id and secret-id in files role.txt and secret.txt as generated in step 4.

7. Run vault agent -config=agent.hcl from extracted folder of step 6. This will create a file like below in output.yaml

Pollers:
  u2: 
    username: "admin"
    password: "admin"

8. This file can be used in Harvest as mentioned here
