Setting `body` max-width?

I'm wondering about the rationale for setting the body element's max-width in the Neutron framework, which prevents any kind of full-width hero on screens larger than the default 960px max-width.

The other 'bootstrap' css (setting box-sizing, etc) seems essential to Neutron performing calculations correctly, but maybe it should be the responsibility of the user to make sure max-width of the containing element is correct?

Just a thought (I just run a modified Neutron, so it's not a huge deal).
